Brandon was born and raised in Huntington Beach CA where he still resides today.
He first got interested in photography While attending Huntington Beach High School. After high school he went on to study photography at The Art Center College Of Design. It was at The Art Center Where Brandon learned to perfect his craft and truly realize that the world of photography had so much to offer, whether it be commercial or art.
After college Brandon began working in advertising, and editorial for such magazines as Anthem, Lemonade, Surfer, and Skateboarder. He has also worked with such company's as Etnies, Modern Amusement, Volcom, Travota, and Crate Denim to name a few.
It was in 2007 when Brandon first had the idea to give children's portraiture a consideration as a career move.
As a Christmas gift to his sister Stephanie he photographed his three nieces which in result led to her friends asking her who the photographer was and how could they get in touch with him. After that he found himself getting more and more requests for this type of photography.
Brandon's approach to child portraiture is refreshing and unforced in the sense that the child is not asked to
pose for the camera. Instead he tries to capture the true personality of his subject whether it be playful,
inquisitive, or sincere. A studio space can be a little overwhelming for young children and doesn't allow the process to feel as natural. In saying that most all photo shoots are done on location whether it be on the beach, in a park, or in you're own home where the child feels most comfortable and can show his or her true personality. |
